How I Found This Album
To appreciate music, you have to appreciate the music that inspired the music. Paul McCartney once said that he and John Lennon were like the Everly Brothers when they wrote their harmonies together, and Paul Simon once said they were the “…most beautiful-sounding duo I ever heard.” I happen to agree. Upon hearing All I Have to Do Is Dream, I was completely taken aback by how beautifully simple the song is. The harmonies are completely unmatched, and the nostalgia that the song fills me with is gutwrenching. Similarly, Let It Be Me and So Sad are lyrically simple, yet emotionally effective songs that prove how incredible the Everly Brothers were as musicians.
Some things are popular because they’re on trend, and some things are popular because they’re genuinely great. In this case, the Everly Brothers are a prime example of an extremely popular music group that is well worth the praise, especially from other wildly famous musicians.
