Released in 2023, 10,000 Gecs is an absolute wild ride of an album. Hyperpop duo 100 Gecs truly outdid themselves with the production value and energy of this album, where every song feels like it was made in the midst of a sugar rush (or some other kind of rush).

How I Found This Album
When I started dating my boyfriend, Ledger, he told me a story about how his older brother was once friends with Dylan Brady, one of the members of 100 Gecs. I didn’t believe him for a second when he said that Brady would visit his house, and once paid 4-year-old Ledger to borrow a superhero cape, but when his mom refuted the exact same story I knew it had to be true. We initially started listening to their music as a joke, but the more we listened, the more we began to actually enjoy it. In 2023, they dropped 10,000 Gecs, and announced that they would be playing in St. Louis, Missouri at the same time I would be visiting Ledger there.
In short, we drove through a tornado to see 100 Gecs live just days after my birthday. Despite listening to 100 Gecs to get a good laugh, we ended up being lifelong fans after that concert. It still stands as one of my top three favorite concerts of all time, and I’ve been to quite a few concerts.
